Actually, I used the bjc610 uniprint driver
setting from RedHat's printtool.
This multifunction machine ignored me until
I gave it this magic invocation from
the front panel:
"Function" "0" five-greater-than-signs "Start" "Start"
(Which corresponds to DOS Printing ON)
