This printer is reported to work with the drivers for the Lexmark Z42, so it is probably a rebadged Lexmark Z42.
The Compaq cartridges have a little plastic tab to make them incompatible with Lexmark cartridges. Otherwise they are the same. I think you can break off the tab and use the other brand?
Consumables/Refills: color and black or photo cart.
