At the given URL there can be downloaded an UFR/UFR II/UFR II lite driver for linux, which supports several devices. A list is given at the driver download page. At time of this writing version 2.0 is current. The driver seems to be developed by some Canon representation, though Canon does declare it as 3rd party software.
