Just to let you know that the OpenPrinting database can be
updated. I am using the apple laserwriter 4/600 ps and it works
perfectly!
How?
The laserwriter 4/600 ps has a localtalk connector and I print to
it from a suse 7.2 installation on a plain pc. Between the pc and
the printer there is an AsanteTalk box which bridges plain ethernet
and etherTalk (over localtalk).
pc eth0 ------ AsanteTalk ------ laserwriter 4/600 PS
On the linux pc I've made an entry under /var/spool called
laserwriter4600ps under /var/spool/laserwriter4600ps:
- I've created a file called .paprc containing: (without the ---)

You need the following rpm's (or newer versions) to get it
working, it might also work with earlier versions, file
