Manufacturer-supplied PPD files =============================== This directory contains PPD files created by printer manufacturers (usually for PostScript printers) which they have put under DFSG-free licenses. See also http://www.debian.org/social_contract#guidelines As we only publish free software on linuxprinting.org, we also publish only free PPD files. We encourage every printer manufacturer to put their PPD files under free licenses to ... - get them added to this collections and so to have as many PPDs as possible at the central place of printing with Unix and alike operating systems. - get them into all Linux distributions, and there already onto the downloadable part of the distribution and not only onto the commercial software CDs, which are only available when one buys the boxed set of the distribution.
