Drivers for japanese printer models

There are some printer models, which are made especially for the
japanese market and therefore they are only available in Japan. Most
of the distributions of free operating systems do not contain the
drivers for them.

This directory contains a collection of drivers which I got from
Crutcher Dunnavant (Red Hat). The drivers, ready for GNU GhostScript
5.50 are in the file "gs550j1.tar.gz".

To use them with GhostScript 6.51 you have to apply the patches in
this directory and to install the VFlib stuff from thr "vflib"
directory.

To do not need to fiddle with patches, you can also generate an RPM of
GhostScript, download the file "ghostscript-6.51-9.src.rpm" and do

   rpm --rebuild ghostscript-6.51-9.src.rpm

Note that you must have the development stuff (gcc, *devel* packages,
...) installed and that this works only on RPM based distros (Red Hat,
Mandrake, Conectiva, ...). If you get a message about "missing
dependencies" you have to install the appropriate RPM packages from
your distro.

Note also that this GhostScript does not necessarily contain all the
drivers which your distro provides.
